6.2% ABV, 65 IBU. Grain to glass time: 12 days. The CTZ hops in this SMaSH beer bring a pungent citrus profile, often described as “dank”. CTZ stands for Columbus, Tomahawk, Zues, three different names for the same hop, so most people simply refer to it as CTZ. A commercial example highlighting this hop is Avery Brewing’s Hog Heaven. SMaSH stands for Single Malt and Single Hop. This series highlights the differences hop varieties make in the beer. We recommend brewing at least two of these beers at the same time if you have two BEERMKRs, or if you have a friend with a BEERMKR. The malt used is Maris Otter from England. This is a complex base malt is slightly nutty and a touch darker than 2-row and pilsen malt, making it an excellent malt to stand on its own.
