GET TO KNOW YOUR BEER
The American Amber ale category has long been a mainstay of American Craft Beer. Of the three flagship American craft beers that shaped the early days of the craft beer revolution, two were ambers: New Belgium Fat Tire, and Sam Adams Boston Lager. Obviously Boston Lager was fermented with a lager yeast instead of an ale yeast, but the grain bills and colors are remarkably similar. They both feature malts bills with dark caramel malts that gives the copper body and sweetness which hallmarks of the amber style.
Jurassic Ale was crafted with the goal of representing this style. The grain bill is comprised of 80% 2-row malt, 8% Caramel 60L, 8% Victory, and 4% Carafoam. The 2-row contributes very little color but a bulk of the fermentable sugars. The Caramel 60L brings a round sweetness to the finish as well as a bulk of the copper color. Victory brings a nutty, toasted flavor as well as some color, and Carafoam adds dextrin sweetness and head retention.

WHAT IS A MKRKIT
Select from one of our 15 delicious MKRKITs (and growing) for a pre-made recipe that creates a craft brewery quality beer every time or use your own ingredients! The DIY section of our app allows you to buy individual ingredients to create your very own recipe. Also feel free to customize our MKRKITs, try adding some chocolate to your Chubby Stout or whatever you can imagine! That's the beauty of BEERMKR, anything is possible.
We source all our grains from the same growers and suppliers as major craft breweries and home brewers alike. We pack the grains into pre-portion bags so you can just dump them in. We use a combination of raw hops and SteamHops, which are hops that have been pre-"boiled" to match the flavor profile of 15/30/60 min boils without actually boiling. Choose from our selection of yeast packets, or source and add your own. You can control the fermentation schedule to match your strain.
