When we filmed our SharkTank segment in September 2020 (watch the episode on ABC), BEERMKR was in a completely different stage of its life.  On the day of filming, BEERMKR was the culmination of years of R&D, but we were just starting to ship product to our KickStarter backers.  We walked into the SharkTank knowing full well that the valuation we were asking was going to provoke some wide eyes and guffaws from the Sharks.  But it’s a valuation we stand behind to this day.  We believe BEERMKR has the potential change the beer industry, and we stand by our decision to turn down the deal!

Now, nearly a year later, we can confidently say that we were right.  Since filming our SharkTank segment, BEERMKR has exploded onto the scene!  In less than a year, we’ve sold and shipped THOUSANDS of BEERMKR units.  We’ve sold TENS OF THOUSANDS of MKRKITs.  And as of this week, we can proudly say, that BEERMKR has brewed over 100,000 beers.  

We wanted to take a look at some of our favorite memories and accomplishments since we filmed last September.

100,000 Beers Brewed

We’re proud to announce that we’ve reached a milestone!  With our thousands of BEERMKRs out in the world brewing up a storm, we’ve officially brewed over 100,000 beers!  This is an incredible accomplishment not only for us, but for all our brewers out there.  We've got a packed schedule of new beers in the pipeline, so keep brewing!

Award Winning Beers

At this year’s National Hombrew Competition, the biggest homebrewing competition of the year, a beer brewed on a BEERMKR took GOLD in the Porters & Stouts competition.  Christian Chandler, of Pheonix, AZ, beat out 165 other entrants to take the top prize with his American Porter brewed on his BEERMKR.  Check out the full article here.

Wild Experiments, Delicious Beers

Nothing is more exciting to us here at BEERMKR than seeing what all of our brewers come up with at home. The beauty of BEERMKR is that its a completely open system, so brewers are free to tweak our MKRKITs, or go completely rogue and create all new recipes themselves. We’re seeing grapefruit IPAs, orange infused Wheats, and even some Jalapeno Mexican Lagers!  The more exciting experiments our brewers put out there, but further we can collectively push and innovate beer!

BEERMKR Goes International

Since the very beginning, it has been our goal to create a global community of beer lovers, that have the ability brew, share, and enjoy beer with each other.  We're incredibly excited to have expanded distribution of BEERMKRs into Canada, Europe, and Australia!  This is a huge opportunity for us to not only address the enormous international beer market, but also start to source exciting new ingredients and recipes from around the world.  We still have a ways to go, but we can't wait to see what exciting beer-exchanges come out of this expansion!

When it was all said and done, we can confidently say that the Sharks made a mistake.  Having the chance to go on the show was an opportunity of a lifetime, and wouldn't trade it for anything.  But maybe timing wasn't in our favor, and maybe BEERMKR wasn't in the right spot to convince the Sharks.  Ultimately, we are accomplishing what we set out to do, and look forward to bright future full of beer!
